Walmart is selling Caskets online. This appears to have have happened with no announcement. Caskets are available for purchase at the Walmart Website. There is no indication as of yet that you can go down to the local Walmart and purchase a Casket.
This cuts into the funeral directors profit and caskets are apparently less from the super retailer than from the funeral home. It appears that the retailer wants the casket shipped directly to the funeral home through from retailer.
This was predicted in the Rest in Peace Insiders Tips to the Low Cost Less Stress Funeral a work that helps with funeral cost.
Funeral Directors under the law must cooperate. The FTC Funeral Rule states that the consumer has the right to get a casket from a third party or off the internet. Check out Wall Mart’s supply of Caskets here.
Prices range from $999.00 dollars to 3,199.00 dollars.(retail price) This will definitely hurt the already problem ridden Batesville Casket company, The same applies to York Casket, and Aurora Casket as well.
Casket returns are not accepted except for shipping damages.
