A Veteran’s Ashes were stolen out of a van in Washington DC last week but the Arlington National Cemetery Funeral and burial went on as scheduled. Arlington National Cemetery(ANC) is always kind to it’s veterans and has offered to perform the ceremony again after the the Ashes are returned.
The remains were taken out of a rented van in the DC Metro Area. The Metropolatin Police are handling the matter. Snippet:

Norbert Otto Schmidt went ahead with the burial Friday. Instead of the ashes being put in a grave, Schmidt gets a headstone in a part of the cemetery for former soldiers whose remains are missing.
