A Court Official and a Funeral Home,-Bonney Watson has donated an embroidered flag to the Lakewood Police Department. The Flag is embroidered with the slain police officers names. The Flag is meant to be a tribute and memorial to the Police Officers who died.
This tribute was the brainchild of Rick Clements of the King County Sheriff Court protection Unit who called the, BonneyWatson Funeral Home for the 5×9 Flag donation. Mr Clements then had the flag embroiered with the Slain police officers names.
This was kind gesture by Mr. Clements and should be applauded.
The names, in two-inch gold letters, were affixed to the flag’s red stripes. Also written in gold on the flag are the words, “In Memory of the Lakewood Officers. Respect, Honor and Remember.”
Then Clements, 52, who works for the King County Sheriff’s Office and lives in Seattle, loaded the flag in his truck and drove it to the Lakewood memorial, where it was accepted by a special Seattle Police honor guard, amid heavy emotion and tears. Clements said officers were still trying to decide how to display it.
